Top: Gap
Skirt: J Crew
Belt: J Crew
Shoes: Naturalizer

I'm back at work. Woe is me. I've actually been back for two days but was in pretty scrubby, unblog-worthy clothes for them. I'm entering my fifth year of teaching and I have moved classrooms every year so I've been doing lots of unpacking.

Even though I've done this before, I'm still amazed at home much my feet hurt! The transition from flip flops to normal shoes is tough! I need to build up my shoes tolerance before the students return next week.

Dress: Talbots
Shoes: Naturalizer
Watch: Hugo Boss stolen from RDog
Bracelets: Joe Fresh and thrifted

Tonight we went to the ballet for the first time ever. It was a little confusing at first but after I figured out that the story was written in the program, I was all good. Unfortunately we sat beside two university-aged girls who thought the Phantom of the Opera was funny. In my imagination, I bitch slapped them and told them to shut the *&%$ up. In reality, I silently fumed for the entire second act at the their foolish behavior. There were eight year old in attendance that were better behaved.

Anyways, on to better things. Like RDog's photos skills. He did a good job today. *golf clap*

Square Feet

August 24, 2011

August 24, 2011

Dress: Old Navy also worn here
Belt: H&M
Shoes: Talbots

I love these shoes, bought on super sale from Talbots. I almost have square feet my feet are so wide but Talbots has wide widths. Yah! Finally, I have another retailer besides Naturalizer to turn to for shoes.

The only problem with these shoes is getting used to the high high heel. My feet are used to flips flops and ballet flaps. I have to start working my way back into heels for my return to work next week. :-(

Birthdays and Brackets

August 19, 2011

August 19, 2011

Dress: Banana Republic
Shoes: Karen Scott
Headband: RW&Co

Last night RDog took me out for a birthday dinner. I am now 30 (sigh).

After dinner, we drove around town looking for a keg for our pool party today (keg, pool, disco ball, and pinatas = a good time). I noticed the light was dying fast (what is up with these shorter days) and commanded RDog to pull over and take some blog pictures. The spot we choose is my school (which needs a good weeding).

Then we finally found our keg and headed downtown for a few drink-e-poos and dessert (
tiramisu!). It was a great birthday night. Thank RDog!

Now I will stop writing in parentheses (maybe).

Talbots on a Rainy Day

Dress: Talbots found here
Belt: Forever 21
Shoes: Clark's

I've been on a Talbots kick lately. They have some great clothing and great sales.

However, I'm not sure I recommend this dress. I love the print (plaid makes me happy) but the fit is funny. So just a heads up if you are thinking about ordering it.

First of all, it runs BIG. I had to put on my most elastic belt and bunch a lot of the material in the back. RDog thinks it will make a good maternity dress someday.

Secondly, it took a lot of fussing to make my bra straps less noticeable. I went with a racer back and used the dress's bra snaps, but little hints of my bright blue bra kept popping put.

It also is a crinkle style. I'm not a fan of wrinkles so I ironed those bad boys out. It took a lot of work to get it crinkle free.

But, the dress is a great price ($31.99 with free shipping codes floating around). So if those things don't bother you, order away.

Tennis Player Stands on The Side of The Road

August 5, 2011

August 5, 2011

Skirt: Old Navy (thrifted)
Top: J Crew
Shoes: Chaps

The skirt goes against all my thrifting rules. When thrifting, I don't buy cheaper brands (clothes from Wal-mart, Old Navy, etc.) and I don't buy polyester. Well, this skirt is 100% polyester and from Old Navy. But I liked it so much, I broke the rules.

I felt a little bit like a tennis player while wearing this but RDog thinks tennis players are hot so I guess that's ok (?) I think he likes watching tennis to see the girls' skirts fly up. He's a dirty dog.

We were driving home after supper out with friends when I realized I looked half decent (no pj's nor swimsuit to be found). I also noticed the good light was dying . We pulled over to the side of the road and pulled out my little pink Casio camera to get these shots. We also got several honks from passer-bys.

And that is how my tennis player on the side of the road look was born.
