Dress Envy
Dress: Sears
Shoes: Banana Republic
When my teacher friend (Team J, woot, woot), told me she bought a new dress to wear for prom chaperoning, I immediately felt dress envy. I, too, wanted a new dress. So the day before prom, I set off on my lunch break to find a dress. I only had a few rules; no spaghetti straps, no big price tags and no polyester.
I hit up Sears. I haven't shopped there for years but I figured I could find something well-priced there. My memory failed to remind me that Sears clothing is 95% polyester. There were racks and rack and racks of cheap polyester dresses. Yuck!
I did, however, stumble upon this dress buried in the clearance rack. It is polyester but it doesn't look cheap (at least not to me). Regular $120, it was marked down to $69.99 plus another 25% off. It was still a little bit more than I want to pay though. What can I say, I am cheap! Then I remember my Sears points.
We racked up quite a few Sears points a few years ago, buying a washer, dryer, bed, couches, and a kitchen table. I spent a lot of the points but I thought there might be a few left. I had the cashier check for me and indeed, I had $60 in points saved up.
My dress came to $59.36. Yeah for free dresses!

Sideways
Dress: Old Navy
Sweater: J Crew
Shoes: Super Old
A new dress for the blog today. I found this at Old Navy last
week. It fit most of my requirements for an easy summer dress: straps wide
enough to conceal a bra, not embarrassingly short or see-through and
a decent price (I snagged it for $17). The waist is a bit off for me, but a lot
of dresses are. I'm 5'10" and most of that height is in my torso. It's
hard to find dresses that have a waist where my waist is. Usually, it's much
too high, resulting in the "is she or isn't she pregnant?" look.
But, altogether, it should be a great throw on and go summer dress.

Hard Headed Woman
Sweater: J Crew
Tank: J Crew
Skirt: Jessica from Sears
Shoes: Naturalizer
Necklace: J Crew ripoff via EBay
Yesterday I was discovered.
A teacher friend, who loves clothes just as much as I do, was using Google Images to look at dress pictures and found pictures of me.
She messaged me at school saying, ;'I was looking for dress pictures, instead I found KDot pictures."
Awkward.
So I guess I have a new reader. Thereby a new nickname shall be added to the blog rooster. Teacher friend, you shall now be known as Team J: woot, woot.
Team J: woot, woot has sworn to secrecy. She now knows my dirty little secret. Yes, I have superficial side of me that likes to post 100s of pictures of myself on the interwebs.
I am a hard headed woman.
Or maybe RDog is playing his new Cat Stevens record much too loud.
To add to this delightful random post; is my sweater neon enough? It better be; it's going in Everybody, Everywear's collection.
Team neon; woot, woot!

Julep Review
Last month, I joined Julep. It's like the makeup boxes that have been making their way around the blogging world, only this one is for nail polish.
Today, my second box arrived. It was so pretty, I just had to share.
Everything was packaged so prettily. Yes, those are Pixie Stix - yum!
Every month, you can pick different "styles" and get a package based on that style. This month, I picked the "It Girl" package because it had three polishes while the other options only had 2 (they included a bottle of sunscreen instead). I received the colors Sasha, Sandra and Morgan. As a bonus, a lip balm with SPF and a coupon for a free polish next month ere tucked in the box.
You may have noticed that there are no up close shots of my hands on this blog. It's because I'm a nail chewer so my pretty new colors will not make an appearance on my hands. I do, however, paint my toes and can't wait to give these polishes a try.
Last month in my box, I received two polishes; one was a hit, a beautiful gray color that went on smoothly. The other was a yellow that was a chunky monkey. It just didn't go on as nicely as my standard OPI polishes. This month's order will determine whether or not I stay with the service. At $20 a month, it seems silly to keep with it as I am not a huge user of nail polish.
What about you? Have you tried Julep? What's your favorite beauty subscription service?
