I'm a big fan of the Jackie cardigan. At last count, I had 19 in my closet (yikes!). So when I spied the striped version for under $30, I knew I had to snag it.

No more maternity clothes for me. I'm nearing the finish line and have started thinking about what I will wear after my body gets back to normal (or close to it - hopefully - please, please, please). I can't wait to dive back into my closet and start playing with clothes again.

34 Weeks

34 Weeks

How far along: 34 weeks

Development:  My baby app tells me our little monkey is the size of a cantaloupe.

Movement: All the time, especially at night.  Every time I go for a check-up, the nurse has a hard time getting his heart beat count because he will not stay still long enough.

Maternity Clothes:  I'm rotating five maternity dresses right now and a couple of skirts and tanks.

Stretch Marks:  None yet.

Best moment of my week:  Organizing my little guy's nursery. I only have a couple things left to do and then I'll post pictures. I love going in his room and just rocking in the chair we have in there. It's so peaceful.

Worst moment:  When my grandmother didn't come to my baby shower. She had been after me for years to have a baby. I remember when I got the all-clear to start telling relatives, she was one of the first people I called. She was so excited! So it really hurt my feelings that she did not come to my baby shower. She said she was too busy with farm chores to get away. She didn't even tell me or my mother. She told my aunt who passed on the message. And then after the shower was over, she called my parent's house but didn't ask to speak to me; she talked to my aunt. It would have been nice even if she had just talked to me on the phone to tell me why she didn't come.

I was also really sad that RDog didn't come to the baby shower either. All my family was there. His parents traveled four hours to be there too. RDog was away on a golf/boys weekend but got home the morning of the shower. I asked him to come but he said he didn't want to spend the money on gas (it's about a hour and half drive). I suspect the real reason was because he wanted to spend the day in the basement watching loud movies. I don't know what's going on with him lately; maybe he is going through some kind of pre-baby crisis. All he wants to do is sit in the basement and watch tv and play on his IPad. And his memory is HORRIBLE. The man has always been absent minded, but it has reached epic levels lately. I can vent here about him because he no longer bothers to look at my blog.

Sleep:  Not so hot lately. The baby has been punching my insides a lot at night and keeping me up all night.

Miss Anything:  A variety of sleep positions (stomach, back)

Food Cravings: Chocolate chip cookies

Aversions:  None

Gender:  Baby Boy

Symptoms: Not a lot. I just get a little nauseous if I don't eat enough. I've been so busy with my summer nesting projects, that sometimes I forget to eat lunch.

Belly Button: It's flat now but I suspect it will be an outie soon

Rings:  On - not swollen yet!

Moody or Happy:  I'm awfully moody lately.

Looking Forward: Meeting my little guy

Like I mentioned, my baby shower was last week. I wasn't able to get a lot of pictures, but my father-in-law took a few.

The shower took place in my parent's back yard, where RDog and I were married five years ago. My aunt used her connections to get us a big tent, which was great because it was a hot day!

The diaper cake my parents made with our baby pictures.

With my mother (she HATES getting her picture taken) and my mother-in-law.

Opening gifts.

I was really fortunate to get a lot of stuff! Our little guy, will not need any clothes for a long time. A lot of people came to the shower; aunts, cousins, childhood friends, my mother's friends and even my childhood babysitter. Many of them had to travel to get there so I am especially appreciative.

In the process of cleaning out the baby's room, I also had to clean out his closet, aka my second closet. The whole process took a lot longer than I expected; three days of cleaning out junk, washing furniture and clothes and putting everything away. A plus side of the cleaning out process was that I found this dress.

Yes, it is a dress. It's called the Sanur dress from J Crew Factory. I bought it a couple of years ago and immediately didn't like it because it was a strapless dress and I like to wear bras with straps. I'm not sure why I bought it in the first place (probably because it was on super sale!). I put it up on EBay but had no takers so it sat languishing in my second closet for a long time.

This week I rediscovered it and it turns out that the Sanur dress makes a perfect skirt for an almost 34 week pregnant belly. I'm excited to have one more option in my very small wardrobe.

Summer Loving

Although not much is going on fashion wise (I'm basically recycling three outfits now), I'm having a great summer. This is the best I've felt throughout my entire pregnancy. I thought I'd share what I've been up to so far this summer.

Lots of laundry!

I'm such a dork.

I hate having messy stacks of t-shirts and sweaters in my closet so on my first day of vacation, I re-folded everything in the closet using my newly purchased Miracle Folder. And I had fun doing so!

Lots of reading. I'm sticking to pool  reads and baby books.

I love having a homemade treat in the house for RDog. He is getting spoiled lately. He gets breakfast made for him every morning and hasn't had to do any house cleaning since I've stopped working. I keep telling him not to get too used to this; things will most likely change when the baby arrives!

Painting. I've actually made a list of all the little things I want to paint over the next few weeks. Again, I"m a dork

First up, were these wooden chairs whose former bright yellow color has been clashing with our house (that we moved into three years ago). Eight dollars worth of paint and an afternoon later, they are a much better match. I should have done that sooner.

This week's painting project; two little tables made by my school's shop class students and the baby's dresser.

I also worked on putting together some favors for my baby shower this weekend.

I used the containers from our wedding candy buffet five years ago. I popped in some Bath and Body Works candles and used some washi tape to add a little color.

Speaking of our five year anniversary, we celebrated with a fancy meal out. :p

On our actual anniversary, I had two doctor appointments and a ton of errands to run. It was also the hottest day of the summer so far. By the time supper time arrived, I just wanted to veg by the pool so we got some yummy burger takeout to celebrate.

And lastly, after three years of having an empty living room, we finally have a couch.

Maybe now that our house is finally not looking so bare, I'll actually put together my blog house tour that I've been meaning to do ever since we moved in (three years ago - opps).

32 Weeks

32 weeks

How far along: 32 weeks

Development:  My baby app tells me our little monkey is the size of a bok choy. the doctor said on Friday that he is weighing just at five pounds and is measuring in the 75th percentile.

Movement: All the time, especially at night. He does not like it if I sleep on my side and protests by punching my insides

Maternity Clothes:  I'm rotating five maternity dresses right now and a couple of skirts and tanks.

Stretch Marks:  None yet.

Best moment of my week:  Having an ultrasound and getting to see his cute little nose and mouth. And hair - he has hair!

Worst moment:  Going to our prenatal class and getting a little overwhelmed. Labor is coming soon and that scares the poop out of me.

Sleep:  Ok once I get myself arranged at the perfect angle that he will tolerate without punching me and that does not leave me lying flat on my back. It takes some doing to get the pillows arranged around me.

Miss Anything:  My clothes. I started cleaning out my closet (one of my summer vacation chores that I love - I'm a dork). I discovered all kinds of clothes that I forgot about. I can't wait to wear them again.

Food Cravings: Burgers

Aversions:  No aversions just my food sensitivities that are driving me crazy. Dairy is still on the no-go list.

Gender:  Baby Boy

Symptoms: I get braxton hicks quite often but have discovered that swimming is the cure for that. I"m actually feeling better now than I have at any other point in my pregnancy.

Belly Button: Slowly moving out.

Rings:  On - not swollen yet!

Moody or Happy:  Pretty happy most of the time. I love being home. Puttering around the house, napping and swimming on my own schedule has made me pretty happy.

Looking Forward: My baby shower next weekend!

Dress: Motherhood Maternity
Shoes: Zellers
Purse: Kate Spade

RDog and I went away on a mini weekend getaway last weekend. We hopped over to Prince Edward Island, one of our favorite places for quick getaways. It's great because there is so much to do; it's very much a tourist-friendly province. We spent the weekend antiquing and eating mostly. I'm all about crab cakes and lobster rolls this summer.

We also discovered this spot, The Dunes. It is now one of my favorite PEI spots. The gardens were so pretty, I couldn't resist taking a couple blog photos, even though I'm not feeling too fashionable lately.

The uncomfortable phase of pregnancy has set in. Who knew a year ago when I was doing an hour and half of Jillian Michaels workouts a day that walking up and down the stairs or even getting out of my chair would be such a challenge! Nine more weeks left!
