This skirt almost bit the dust. It was too small for me earlier this year and it sat in the "to be donated" box in my garage all summer. Fall rolled around and the "to be donated" box was donated but not before I spied this skirt inside and gave it a try again. And it fit! Yeah, it was like finding a new skirt in my garage!

An Emotional Day

This picture was taken on the 4th anniversary of my aunt's death. I knew I would be thinking of her all day, so I wanted to wear something special. This brooch was the perfect choice. After her death, my mother found this brooch among my aunt's belongings and kept it for me (because I am girly and like sparkly things). Her life was difficult and she didn't have a lot of material belongings to pass along. I'm just glad I have a little something to remember the good bits of her life.

I was already feeling emotional that morning but then my teacher friend texted me to tell me his expectant wife went into labour a month early! Even though she was early, everything is fine with the new little one. I am very happy for my two dear friends. It still blows my mind that they created another living being!

So this ended up being a very emotional day, much of it with me on the edge of the tears. Although, with the baby news, they were very happy tears. Team Baby; woot, woot!

Spooky Color

This sweater was one of my recent J Crew sale purchases. It was about 4000 times brighter in person than on my computer screen. I figured it was a perfect Halloween color so I wore it last week on the spooky day. I'm not a big fan of Halloween costumes so this was the perfect fit for me.

It's been a super busy week; Halloween, parent teacher interviews, a visit from my parents. I have all kinds of pictures stored up that I haven't had the chance to post. They're coming soon.

In unrelated news, the bare trees behind me make me sad. The pretty leaves are all gone. My father asked me last night if I had put my winter tires on my car. I'm not ready for winter yet!
