I think this outfit epitomizes where I want my style to go. It's a mix of a few higher quality items (Cole Haan, J Crew) with some affordable basics (Gap, Joe Fresh), topped off with a unique piece (my vintage scarf clip).

Outfit of the day

I didn't have a lot of options for today's outfit. Today was my school's outdoor walk and pep rally. I had to dress warm and in school colors with comfy shoes. Voila, here it is.

It was dark and rainy today. I should have used a flash for this picture. These tights are the newest addition to my collection. They have a neat stripe going through them. After seeing the cool tights in J Crew's September catalog, I was craving tights. I found these at Sears for $2! Much better that $25 at J Crew. Now I think it's time to expand to colored tights.

This was not what I planned to wear today but when I got this morning, it was cold! Too cold for bare legs so a quick outfit change had to be made. It looks like tights weather is here.

Trying something new

My school outfit today was a repeat of this. It's my go-to outfit when nothing looks good.

Tonight we went out for dinner with some teacher friends and I thought I would try something new. It's a bit hipper than usual for me. I found the sweater at The Bay last night. They are having an extra %40 sale off of their clearance. It's different for me but at only $14, I thought I'd give it a try. What do you think? Can I pull off the slim pants and long sweater look?
