Grandmotherly Shoes
No fancy photos today. I was way too tired to wait for RDog to come home. So it's tripod shots and a quick change into Juicy sweats for me tonight!
I feel like this outfit was too happy for my mood today. I was a crank teacher today! It was so hard to go back after a beautiful warm 4 day weekend. Yesterday, the snow finally melted and I sat by my (very dirty) pool and drank Corona. It was a hint to the summer that is coming (28 teaching days left!)
The outfit:
Sweater: J Crew
Cami: Nygard
Skirt: J Crew
Shoes: Naturalizer - I don't wear these very often as I discovered that my 75 year old grandmother (who has the exact shoes size - 8.5 wide) has the same pair! I hope that is a sign that I have a stylish Nan and not a sign that I wear grandmotherly shoes.

Double Check Your Buttons Folks!
Blouse: Forever 21 - It's actually a tunic and is huuuuge. Someday it may double as a maternity shirt or I can use it for smuggling
Skirt: Ricki's
Shoes: Naturalizer
Another day where I did not check to see if all my buttons were done before leaving the house. Luckily, nothing was revealed, unlike last time.

1999 called, it wants its slang back
RDog got fancy with his photo taking tonight. Most of the time, I take my own photos with a tripod and a remote. But tonight, I was late getting home and RDog was early so he was able to put his fancy skillz to use (i.e. I pounced on him as soon as he was in the door demanding pretty pictures. RDog: "What kind of pictures? KDot (screaming) "Just make meeee look skinnny.").
The deets:
Cardigan: J Crew
Tank: Martin and Osa
Skirt: Cassis
Shoes: Naturalizer
KDot out.

Red Shoes and Good Hair Days
Top: Banana Republic
Pants: Gap
Shoes: Naturalizer
Today was my unofficial dress down day. We had teacher meetings today and I felt like dressing a little more casual than usual. When I first wore these pants to work, I got a few comments on their denim likeness. They are denim colored but definitely do not feel like jeans. I don't consider them jeans, but I always feel iffy wearing them to school so I save them for days like today. (Our school's dress code does not allow us to wear jeans).

Headband Related Pain
Sweater: J Crew
Top: Banana Republic
Skirt: Ricki's
Shoes: Naturalizer
Headband: Forever 21
I tried something different today with my bow headband. I felt a little too much Blair from Gossip Girl and not enough KDot from New Brunswick. So I really didn't end up wearing it for most of the day. It hurt the sides of my head too. I hate headband related pain.

Cinderella
Skirt: Joe Fresh
Sweater:J Crew
Shoes: Naturalizer
One of my former students came to visit me today. He wanted to share his excitement with me as he is due to graduate in 2 months. He will be the first in his family to finish high school.
I think that RDog and I in our youth took a lot for granted. It was assumed not only we'd graduate from high school but that we'd go on to some other form of learning.
It took a few years of teaching for me to realize that just making it through high school is a huge accomplishment for some people. I'm so proud of my student! I can't wait to see him walk across the stage in June.
As he was leaving my classroom, he told me I looked like Cinderella today (hence the blog title). Awwwwww . . . he might have been trying to flirt a bit but still, awwwwwwww. . .

Dare to be Bare
DRess: Martin and Osa
Sweater: J Crew
Necklace: J Crew
Belt: Gap
Shoes: Cole Haan
Today's outfit was inspired by Kimchi Girl. I love how she paired pink, blue and yellow here.
Notice the bare legs. Yes, today I dared to go bare. I even had outdoor duty! I survived and to tell you a secret, I felt a bit sexy without the tights. Sssh . . .

Smells Like Spring
I tried a new remote setting on my camera today. Instead of taking pictures with a 2 second delay, it went rapid fire. The result; 100s of pictures with my with eyes closed, looking stunned. This was all I could salvage. I guess those seconds saved were not worth it.
The outfit:
Cardigan: J Crew Factory - It still pops back often. I recommend it!
Skirt: Caissis
Necklace: The Bay
Shoes: Naturalizer

Just A Country Girl
I asked RDog what he thought of my outfit this morning. He said I looked like a country girl. Then we took his Jeep out on the back roads and went mudding. This country living thing ain't so bad sometimes.
It was a beautiful, warm Sunday. I finally took down our outdoor Christmas decorations while RDog washed the mud off his Jeep. Then I stood in our pool.
Yes, it's almost the middle of April and our pool still has at least of foot of ice left in it.
The outfit stuff:
Dress: Old Navy
Cardigan: Old Navy
Hat: J Crew Factory available here (it's a great hat for big noggin ladies)
Sunglasses: J Crew Factory available here

The Story Of a Coat - J Crew's Lady Day
I wrote last week about agonizing over a coat purchase. I ended up ordering J Crew's Lady Day Coat unsure if it would fit properly. My coat finally arrived, just in time for spring. :-)
I go between two sizes at J Crew and went with my bigger size based on the reviews I read online. I'm glad I did! There is no room to spare in the shoulders or in the bust. In fact, the buttons are pulling a little bit. But other than that slight pulling, I love this coat. It really does make feel like a lady.
RDog has suggested that I think about getting the buttons moved. What do you think? Is it good the way it is or should I take it to a tailor for some button movement?

In Trouble
Blouse: J Crew
Skirt: J Crew
Necklace: Etsy
Shoes: Cole Haan
I did something very bad today. While I was setting up to take this picture, RDog's flash fell off his camera. The expensive flash his parents gave him for Christmas a couple of years ago.
It hit the floor hard. Now when it is turned on, it makes a funny grinding noise. I don't know why I even had the silly thing attached to the camera in the first place; I haven't used it in months.
RDog, being the most super, awesome, handsome, best husband ever, wasn't mad. Hopefully, the guys at our camera store can fix it up. Or else I'm going to feel like the biggest pile of poo ever.

Pink Toenails and F-Bombs
Pants: Gap
Top: Gap
Shoes: Naturalizer
Today's outfit was all about the shoes. It was warm enough so I could go sock-less. I also have a fresh pedicure so I took advantage of both facts and wore these cute animal print shoes. You'll have to take my word on their cuteness; I was much too tired to get a better photo of them.
Today's work day involved splitting up a fight in my English class. A boy and a girl started going at it in my class today. I hauled the boy out of the room while he yelled the "f-bomb" repeatedly. Pretty much the whole school heard it, he was so loud. It wasn't directed at me; in fact, they both came to see me (separately) to apologize before they went home. This class just has A LOT of personal drama that seeps into class. It's the smallest class I've ever taught (10 students) but one of the toughest.
Sigh, tomorrow is another day. Tonight, I drink wine!

Just Peachy
Last week's challenge is over; I'm back with my Jackies! Sweet Jackie, I've missed you.
A stressful day at school today ending with my school laptop crashing. The hard drive is toast. I'm not sure how I can teach tomorrow (everything I do is on powerpoint and I use lots of little video clips and pictures to grab my students' attention). How did teachers do it back in the olden days?
