Cardigan: Martin and Osa - This is identical to the black cardi I wore yesterday. I love it so much, I got another. $40 for a cashmere sweater is swell!
Tee: Banana Republic
Pants: Cassis
Shoes: Karen Scott - It was so warm today, I could go barefoot for one last time this year.
Necklace: J Crew

RDog's Fashion Post
I apologize for the lack of posting this week. RDog's grandmother passed away Sunday morning and I haven't had the time to play with clothes all week. The great thing about this blog is that I can quickly look back on past outfits and easily pick things that look good together. It's great for rushed days.
RDog decided today he wanted his own fashion post. He is really proud of his spiffy suit.
Suit: Hugo Boss
Shoes: Hugo Boss
Belt: Lacoste
Tie: Hugo Boss
Watch: Hugo Boss - Jeez, he likes that name.
Shirt: Old and huge. We dropped off every single one of RDog's nice dress shirts at the drycleaner on Saturday, not realizing that he would have to dress up this week. So he was stuck with this shirt that pre-dates me.
Oh wait, RDog wants me to add that his socks are from Banana Republic and underwear from the Gap. Oh dear, what have I started. I think he needs his own blog.

C'est l'halloween!
We went to a costume party Saturday night. I was the Queen of Hearts. I haven't dressed up for Halloween in years. It was a lot of fun; I need to do it more often. Holy moses, I didn't notice how boobylicious my outfit was until now. Weeeee. . . .
Rdog went as Indiana Jones. He did a blog pose just for the blogging world.
The next morning, RDog's pants were covered with funny brown marks. It was the dye from the whip when I decided to steal it from him and "playfully" smack him. Teehee.

Brooch love
Dress: Martin and Osa
Sweater: Reitmans
Shoes: The Bay
Belt: RW & Co
Necklace: An old brooch I pooped on a chain
Excuse the wrinkles, it was the end of a long day. I slightly pulled my back mid-morning. It hurt more and more as the day continued. After lunch, I was hobbling around in pain. Good thing my prep is at the end of the day and I could sneak out early. Don't worry, a bit of Robaxacet cleared it up. Not to self: put a stash of muscle relaxants in my school locker.
Have a great weekend blogging world!
PS: It wasn't nipply outside. It's the dress's seams sticking out. I didn't notice until I posted the picture. It probably gave some fourteen-year-old a thrill today. Oh dear. . .
PSS: I popped on my chain, I didn't poop on it.

Another day, another bomb threat . . .
Blouse: Banana Republic - It's so soft
Vest: Sears - found on super clearance online last weekend
Belt: Joe Fresh
Pants: Tommy Hilfiger - These are one of the pants that fit my thighs but it huge on the waist. They can only be worn with a belt.
Shoes: Cole Haan
It was a crazy day at school. We had another bomb threat. Yes, another; we had one last week too. Silly kids keep on calling them in, thinking they are going to get out of class. It's ridiculous how many resources are wasted in having emergency personnel rush to the school and then investigate the matter after wards. Grrrrrr!
Guilt Free Shopping at Martin and Osa
It hurts to see some things in the sale section for almost nothing when I paid a lot more . Things like this Poplin Shirt Dress that is now only $19.95. I wore it in black here and red here. Then there is the Sateen Shift Dress which is now $29.95. I wore this dress here and felt like a million bucks. You also can't go wrong with tees and M&O has them on every color for $9.95. I find that they run a bit large so be careful of that. There are also lots of tanks for $6.95. I have this one in every color and am ordering this in green.
I'm loading up my shopping cart and thought I'd share this sale with you so you too could have some fun sale shopping times. Enjoy!

I'm outside!
Sweater: Martin and Osa - It's only on its second wear but a hole has developed. :-( Sad
Tank: Nygard - This has been hanging in my closet for years. I just snipped the tags off this morning. I need to stop doing that!
Skirt: : Ann taylor (thrifted)
Shoes: The Bay
Necklace: J Crew from Ebay

New blogging digs
Dress: Reitman's - I've worn this dress maybe 5 times and it's piling like crazy. Bleh!
Cardigan: J Crew
Necklace: Mexx - "It looks like grapes", remarked our school guidance counselor.
Shoes: Nygard
Evil Tights: Joe Fresh - This were baggy on me! It was the first time I've had baggy tights; I usually have a hard time finding tights long enough for my legs. I gave them a good hike up at lunch and promptly blew a hole at knee level - on a day with an after-school parent meeting. Double bleh. However, I was able to sneak into the meeting room early and sit down. The table covered my tights and I don't think anyone noticed.
I've decided that after 8 months of blogging, it was time for a blog layout update. I think this blogging thing is going to stick. I really enjoy keeping track of my fashion growth and being inspired by the great bloggers out there. I'm working on getting RDog, with his mad photo shopping skills, to give the blog some more polish. But I think this will do in the meantime.

Burberry-ing it up
Blouse: Burberry
Sweater Shell: J Crew
Scarf: Burberry
Scarf clip: vintage
Shoes: The Bay
I felt like a total prep today. I bought this scarf in August but this is the first time I've worn it. I glad I finally figured out a way I feel comfortable wearing a scarf because I love this one. I spied it at the Burberry Outlet in Freeport. It was sitting in a bin of scarves: they all felt plasticy and had ugly patterns. Then there was this one; silk, with the signature Burberry plaid and only $39! I love a good deal.

Dressing in the Dark
Cardigan: J Crew
Blouse: Martin and Osa
Shoes: Naturalizer
Another example of why throwing on clothes in the morning does not always work. I put this together this morning while I was dressing in the dark (woe for the end of long summer days). I ran out the door and didn't stop to look at myself until now. I'm not digging this. I think it is the cut of the cardigan that throws it off.
I really wanted to wear my new blouse that arrived from Martin and Osa. It's a great basic at a great price. Mine had an extra %25 off so it was just over $10. Woot!

Real or fake?
My bubble necklace finally arrived today. It took exactly one month to get here. It is in good shape; no missing beads for me. I really like it too! So if it is fake, it is ok with me. I will still wear it and fell purty.
But I'm still kind of curious. Is it real or is it fake? Does anyone out there have a good eye for J Crew jewelry?
RDog's first Martin and Osa order
Leather Motorcycle Jacket
He is not allowed to get an actual motorcycle so this is the cloest he will ever get to a cool biker look. He is digging the jacket and says it is nice and thin, perfect for fall layering.
Under the jacket is the Cotton-Wool Exposed Seam V-Neck Ringer Sweater. Boy, that is a mouthful.
This sweater has disappeared from Martin and Osa's site and I don't remember the name. I like it because it is nice and tight. RDog responded by flexing his muscles. Here's a hint RDog: don't pose in a silly fashion when your wife is standing in front of you with a camera. She WILL post it on her blog.
More on my new duds to come.
Oh dear, those are some big hands I have.
Cami: J Crew
Skirt: Joe Fresh (a clearance deal for 5 bucks!)
Shoes: The Bay
I found this skirt at my local Superstore grocery store, which also sells clothing. I love the textured pattern. Because it has suddenly turned old here, I had to pair it with tights and a cozy cashmere sweater.

Martin and Osa New Arrivals
Sheer Layered Tank. This is suspiciously J Crew-like. I need more purple in my wardrobe so I can represent my school's colors. Go school go!
Sequin Collar Tee. It's a bt pricey for a tee at $45 but I know it will go on sale at some point.
Velvet Blazer. I'm digging this green color but my size is sold out already. What the deuce; I just got this email yesterday!
I'm really loving Martin and Osa lately especially given my recent rage at J Crew (that story will need a whole other post).
What are your picks from Martin and Osa's newest arrivals?
Happy Thanksgiving Canada
Orginally I had wanted to wear this dress . . .
. . . but the weather turned really cold last week so this dress would not work. I ended up going with an outfit I wore to school in the spring. It kept me warm for the day.
We rented two cottages near the reception site that were right on the ocean. The day after the wedding was a sunny crisp fall day.
The cottages were literally on an ocean-side cliff.
Views from the cliff.
And my favorite picture. . .
My two favorite men in the world: my husband and my father.
I hope I don't get in trouble from RDog for posting a baggy butt picture.
Today is Thanksgiving day but RDog has to work and I have a pile of marking to do for this week's first progress report so there is no turkey time here. I hope those who are having turkey today, enjoy it and have an extra helping of stuffing for me!

On the road again
Cardigan: J Crew
Pants: Gap
Bet: Joe Fresh
Scarf clip: vintage
Shoes: Cole Haan
I think this outfit epitomizes where I want my style to go. It's a mix of a few higher quality items (Cole Haan, J Crew) with some affordable basics (Gap, Joe Fresh), topped off with a unique piece (my vintage scarf clip).
Have a great weekend blogging world. I'm off to Nova Scotia for a family wedding. I can't wait to get my groove on!

Outfit of the day
Skirt: Nygard
Fooler sweater: RW & Co
Shoes and tights: Sears
Bracelet: J Crew
It was dark and rainy today. I should have used a flash for this picture. These tights are the newest addition to my collection. They have a neat stripe going through them. After seeing the cool tights in J Crew's September catalog, I was craving tights. I found these at Sears for $2! Much better that $25 at J Crew. Now I think it's time to expand to colored tights.

Trying something new
Tonight we went out for dinner with some teacher friends and I thought I would try something new. It's a bit hipper than usual for me. I found the sweater at The Bay last night. They are having an extra %40 sale off of their clearance. It's different for me but at only $14, I thought I'd give it a try. What do you think? Can I pull off the slim pants and long sweater look?
Sweater: The Bay
Pants: Cassis
Belt: RW & Co
Shoes: For this picture, it's cheapo shoes from Sears. I walked around the house and developed blisters after about 30 seconds so I actually wore my trusty ole Karen Scott black slingbacks. Note to KDot: stop buying cheap shoes!
